Abilities

⯌ Limited Omniscience Elias can See or Know anything as long as he puts some level of his concentration to it. He can be distracted away from it, however.

⯌ Memory Insertion Elias can put any true information he wants into another person’s mind; he cannot remove information. This will only happen with the other player's approval and prior planning.

⯌ Limited Technopathy Elias has been known to doctor things like CCTV footage. This will be relegated to anything that a hacker can do.

⯌ Incarnation/Contracts Elias is the “heart” of the Institute, and as such, anyone who has an employment contract with the Institute will die if he does. However, those strongly tied to another entity might be insulated enough to survive it, even if it will be incredibly painful. All is left up to the other players' discretion on how they are affected.

⯌ Body Hopping Elias (or rather "Jonah Magnus") can exchange bodies by removing the eyes of the living body he wants to inhabit and putting his original eyes in their place. This is what has allowed him to exist for as long as he has. It does, however, leave him vulnerable; by killing his body shriveled old body in the Panopticon, it will also kill him and allow that person to ascend to his place of Knowing.

⯌ Watcher’s Call Elias can call the Archivist (and perhaps others – it is not specified in canon) to his location. Enacted only with the other player’s approval prior.

Elias has full permission to Know things about Giles! The Watcher's Council is an organization dedicated to gathering info on supernatural threats, which means hoarding and categorizing horror stories. Training includes memorizing volumes and volumes of monster lore; peering through portals into hell; and drugging a teenage girl & locking her in a room with a starving vampire just to watch her panic. So: big Beholding energy, here. With a heavy dash of Hunt.

Giles, specifically, is also HEAVILY marked by something else; he has sold his soul to a demon who vibes ... let's say Spiral? Spiral with a dash of Corruption? There's a ritual tattoo on his arm, always hidden by his clothes, of which he is deeply ashamed.

Also, Giles is INTENSELY loyal to Buffy Summers, who is in Deerington. As far as Giles knows, she's dead back in canon and only exists here, and he has a lot of feelings about it. He desperately wants to support her and keep her safe (and be needed by her), but is awful at communicating this, and is currently a bit aimless & depressed. He's from the end of S5.

Will his powers work on anything dead? Because technically Claudia is dead.

Her kind of vampires have psychic talents, though she herself does not have any. She will probably realize sooner than most that he has Wierd Abilities going on though.

I believe so? While it doesn't exactly state one way or another, I do know that there had been moments where he talked to people who straddled the line between life/death. I think it's more of "is she awake/has brain functions"?

However! I'm more than happy to play any way that makes everyone happy! I've been playing with his powers nerfed due to the environment a lot so I'm good with whatever you've got in mind. :D

Yeah she’s awake! Canonically bugs/animals ignore the vampires because they’re dead (Ms Rice has never heard of forensic entymology, apparently, insects find the dead irresistable). Her version of vampirism is a smidgen different than what he may be used to.

I am largely canon-blind to TMA (working my way through season 2!) so I figured I’d better ask though.

Feel free to have him figure out she’s not-quite-human and/or much older than she looks, though she’ll probably decide he’s more dangerous than useful and be antagonistic at him after that - which she will enjoy, nothing like a good rival the snipe at.

Full permissions granted for anything you want to do! Here's a fun one for Elias:

Ozpin is a bodysnatching immortal. Every time he dies, his consciousness is inserted into a new unwilling host. This is not by his choice; he is, in fact, powerless to stop it. Over a period of months or years, his consciousness and the host consciousness fuse and become one identity, though it's implied his (original) consciousness largely dominates the host. There are now over 100 individuals in the collective. The newest host is Oscar Pine, who is in Deerington, and who maintains a mental link with Oz.

All of this is happening because Oz made a deal with the literal god of his world. The antler tattoos around his wrists match that god's antlers. (His tattoo used to be on his throat, but was burned away by the person he most fears: his ex-lover and immortal enemy. Oz hides the burn scars at all times under bandages around his throat.)

In canon, Oz is fighting a doomed eternal war against that old ex-lover. She literally cannot be killed, which is a secret he hides from everyone in canon. He sends teens to fight and die against her as cannon fodder to keep her in check. He's been doing it for millennia.

In Ozpin's very first lifetime, his name was Ozma. Use of the name "Ozma" will get his attention real, REAL quick.

Also, his filigreed walking cane holds an INSANE amount of power, charged up over centuries: it's basically a magic nuke. Oz can activate part or all of this power, and can ensure it only strikes non-allies, if he's ever desperate enough to use it.

You already know you have blanket permission for Elias to see anything he wants, and you only have to ask me for any details you need. But I thought I'd throw this here just so it's official.

Elias has permission to Know things about Fern! Fern is made up of two separate sentient presences, Finn and the Grass Demon. His headspace in canon looks like this for a better idea of what's going on.

Finn was originally this Schroedinger's cosmic entity called the Catalyst Comet, essentially a sentient being that's both a singular entity and multiple entities that flies or hits Earth every thousandish years and causes catastrophic change (e.g. one Comet hit Earth and wiped out the dinosaurs, killed off most magic, and became the Lich). Finn's comet hits Earth and brings magic back and may or may not be related to the apocalyptic Mushroom War (canon isn't super clear right now). Finn's comet decides to give mortal try for the lulz and goes through a few lives (like a butterfly) before reincarnating to Finn. Fern's aware of all of this except his potential connection to the Mushroom War.

Grass Demon may or may not be a demon, some kind of general AT monster, or a sentient curse made from wizard magic. Who the fuck knows. Here's the creation of the Grass Sword which was what GD was/was in before infecting Finn Sword and becoming Fern. It's notable that wizard magic is actually imagination being used to alter the structure of existence, and no different than incredibly advanced science. It's part of the trifecta of magic-madness-sadness, so the crazier and more depressed you are, the stronger you are at magic. And according to AT lore, existence/reality has been imagined up by Lovecraftian primordial monsters.

So there's a lot of fun TMA Fear-adjacent stuff going on here!

Elias has full permission to pull out any of Varian's memories and use them against him. He has a looooooooot of trauma and guilt about it and it's probably the easiest way to get at him ever. I'm gonna try and summarise an entire Disney Villain arc as easily as I can for you because hoo boy:

Varian was experimenting on these magical black rocks that were taking over his town. His (emotionally distant) father told him HEY DON'T DO THAT, because he knew what they were all about but deigned not to tell Varian the truth- there's a whole web of secrets and lies going on. Varian's experiments made an amber that trapped his father in it, essentially encasing him alive - Varian has an utter shedload of PTSD about it :)
He goes to Rapunzel for help because her magical hair reacts to the rocks. There's a snow storm happening though, so she turns him away, breaking a promise she made to him that they would fix the magical rock problem together. Varian goes home, swears revenge, villain arc starts.
He convinces Rapunzel to help him steal the Sundrop Flower because he believes that might save his dad- he does this by drugging the castle staff into revealing the whereabouts of the flower with a truth serum. Rapunzel commits treason for him, he ditches her- taking the flower. It doesn't work so he decides he needs Rapunzel's magical hair instead.
Sooooo he kidnaps her mother, sets a bunch of robots on the people going to rescue the queen, then dumps a flask of amber next to the queen to blackmail Rapunzel into helping him or her mother gets the same treatment as his dad. Fun.
Rapunzel's hair doesn't do the job so Varian flips out, gets into a giant robot and does the whole "I'm going to make you SUFFER" spiel and tries to crush the queen and Rapunzel's best friend to death with said robot. Rapunzel deus-ex-machina's her way out and Varian is stopped and thrown in jail for a year. This happens when he's 14. YUP.
He eventually breaks out of jail, allies himself with what are essentially fantasy terrorists and helps them take over the kingdom while Rapunzel is away. They wipe the king and queen's memories and places himself as their royal advisor. Varian runs the Kingdom as a slave state, forcing the people to work in mines to get minerals via the royal family's "orders". Rapunzel gets back and is like HELL NO - Varian admits he was planning on wiping out EVERYONE'S memories so no one would remember what he did because that's how redemption works. The terrorists end up being terrible, big shock and want instead to blow up the kingdom. Varian decides that's a line he doesn't want to cross- teams up with the good guys, tried to run a suicide mission to save everyone, gets yeeted out of that idea and eventually saves the day.
He spends the rest of his time living in pretty intense guilt and trying to make up for all his crimes by putting good in the world.

Basically, Varian is a reformed villain with a lot of self-loathing surrounding his past. Of course, if you ever want clips or do any deeper diving than this and we can totally do a thing. He's REALLY easy to get at with this.

Full permission for Elias to know things about Daisy. I’m not sure how TL;DR you want me to get so basics: Grew up in and out of an orphanage, watched her father kill her mother, is an Inhuman(mostly human with a tiny bit of Kree(alien) DNA mixed in, it’s what gives her her powers), lost a guy named Lincoln who she loved, and she was briefly mind controlled by another Inhuman named Hive who caused her to kill people and hurt her friends/teammates.
